I love that in Legally Blond The Musical (and also the movie, but more so the musical), it starts off with songs all about the power of love, and how love conquers all and is the strongest force in the universe

then halfway through the musical that’s abandoned that and there is a song about how the protag is now fueled by entirely by spite which leads them to victory in the end

I may or may not have watched Legally Blonde The Musical five or six times in the last week

since it’s on youtube

I love the musical, and this analysis is gold.

I mean it’s very literal.

Song #2 is What You Want, and Elle uses the power of love to power through the LSAT and personally convince the admissions team to admit her using Love as her argument.

Then later we have Chip On My Shoulder. The song that brings Elle back from her slump when her quest for love fails. She is told she needs a chip on her shoulder. So it’s literally about prevailing out of pure spite.

I love this musical so much
