The Intern (1/1 | 5,272 | Rated E)**

“You’re a sexual harassment case waiting to happen, you know that don’t you?” Catarina says by way of greeting. Magnus tears his eyes away from the way the intern is licking powder sugar off his full lips.

I Knew Him Well (2/? | 9,487 | Rated T)

Alec wakes up in an Institute infirmary, where people around find him as odd as he finds them. There is only one person he recognizes, but that person doesn’t recognize him – Alec had met him a while ago, he hasn’t met Alec yet.

Anything You Say (6/25 | 14,914 | Rated M)**

Detective Alec Lightwood likes his job. He likes the order of it, likes helping people, likes that he gets to work with Jace and that Izzy is always right downstairs in the morgue too. He’s wanted to be a cop ever since he was a kid, just like his parents before him, and now he’s living that dream. His life should be perfect.
There’s just one problem. Their precinct has just gotten a new forensic expert – Magnus Bane.
And honestly, he’s so cute that Alec’s kind of losing his mind.

magnus bane appreciation meme
a moment: magnus crashing the wedding, putting his heart on the line by walking into a room full of people that hate him due to their own prejudice towards him and hoping alec will take a chance on him, yet fully aware he will probably be crushed. magnus fighting for who he cares about, despite his fears and doubts, but still respecting alec by giving him a choice without pushing or forcing him. magnus making a choice for himself, that he doesn’t want to close himself off from emotions again, but embrace them, even if he ends up heartbroken for it.

Imagine Malec doing it so often on that one spot on a wall that some discoloration (and tiny cracks. they get rough sometimes, you can fight me on that) start appearing.

Magnus is the one who notices it first and laughs, but otherwise stays quiet. When Alec notices he might blush for a second before smirking.

and even though magnus could fix that spot with a flick of his fingers he leaves it. and he may try just a bit harder the next time to see how much more wrecked he can make the *ahem* wall

Eventually Jace notices it too but it doesn’t click at first, he can’t understand what he’s seeing… And when it dawns on him.. well.. He’s not sure what to think but you can bet he tells Izzy and the next time she’s visiting Alec she can’t stop grinning after seeing it too.

of course it’s simon that sees it and blurts out, “whoa. do we need to get you two helmets or something?” (because the crack has kind of snaked into epic proportions at this point.) izzy doesn’t even try to stifle her laugh. jace looks horrified. alec walks away muttering to himself. and clary high fives magnus–who may just look like the proudest man on earth as he holds back a very obvious innuendo about alec’s battering ram

shanastoryteller:

i think the narrative should explore the fact that clary is valentine’s daughter.

by which i mean – clary is dangerously charismatic. even alec, who hated her and has been forced to pick up after her, becomes close to her in the end. clary has stomped on every tradition and rule he was raised with, endangered countless lives – but still in the end he forgives, thanks her for saving isabelle’s life when she’s the one who endangered it.

maybe it is jocelyn’s daughter that saves the little mage child. but it is valentines daughter that went marching to magnus’s in the first place. jocelyn went to magnus when she was ready to hide – clary went to him when she was ready to fight. and when she brings the vampires and werewolves together – that type of leadership and manipulation is valentine. jocelyn helped save the downworlders by running from valentine and stealing the cup – clary doesn’t run. from the beginning she doesn’t run.

she fights, but not alone. she draws people to her, like moths to a flame. even meliorn is impressed by her, grants her a favor he’s granted no other. she negotiates with vampires, with simon’s help yes, but on her own.

and speaking of simon – valentine turned his best friend into a werewolf, and clary turned hers into a vampire. granted he was trying to kill luke and clary was trying to save simon, but still. jocelyn left luke wounded in a barn to make his choice, but clary made simon’s choice for him.

valentine and clary act – jocelyn only ever reacts. jocelyn may be a fighter, but she’s not a leader. she’s a soldier. luke is a soldier. but valentine and clary are smart enough and charming enough and ruthless enough to be generals. clary is always convinced she’s doing the right thing – even when lives are in danger and people are getting hurt she thinks she’s making the best choice for everyone. and she can usually convince most of everyone that she’s right. this is dangerous.

she’s not the same kind of leader that valentine is now. valentine is hard and violent and makes you walk over coals for his approval. but once upon a time he did what clary did – was kind and charismatic and told people that he knew what was right, that by listening to him they would be saving the world. clary has been in this world a couple of months and already she draws her inner circle around her, already she has allies that no one else has ever had before.

people are right to be wary of clary for being valentine’s daughter, but not for the reasons they think. clary will die before she joins her father, but she has the potential to succeed where her father failed. clary doesn’t like the clave, doesn’t agree with the clave, and she is valentine’s daughter more than she is jocelyns. those who knew valentine must see all his best and most terrifying qualities shining out in her. she may succeed where her father failed, and if she decides the clave is doing more harm than good – what’s to stop her in leading her allies in tearing it to the ground?

she is joan of arc, she is julias caesar. people believe in her, are willing to fight and die with their worst enemies for her, break oaths to their queen for her.

the only way to get rid of people like her is to stab her 52 times in the senate or burn her in a holy fire. but then she becomes a martyr and then shes more dangerous dead than alive.

there is someone in the clave who’s seeing clary and is seething, panicking, because this little girl is her father’s daughter, and she has the potential to amass an army that will destroy them all.

clary is valentine’s daughter.

her enemies should fear her – including valentine himself.

I assume you don’t mind if people talk Malec to you? I can’t stop thinking about Magnus, he’s had to hold back for so long and when Malec finally get to that place where they’re together and a little more comfortable he’s gonna be so into touching Alec just because he can. I’m imagining little looks here, little lingering touches there. He’s gonna be happy about being able to kiss Alec and don’t even get me started on when they make it to the bedroom.

pale-silver-comb:

I am so sorry, for some reason I seemed to have missed this????? Which is upsetting because I have things to say about Magnus, nonnie. I have so many things.

Because, Magnus is just a little vulnerable cupcake, okay? He puts up all these barriers and walls and underneath he just wants to be loved and cuddled. I mean, something I can’t stop thinking about with Magnus is how he loses everyone he loves and how much courage it must take for him to let himself give into the way he feels for Alec, knowing that – once again – he might lose him. (I say might because I refuse to believe something can’t be worked out.)

But, here is the thing. Here it is. That when Alec and Magnus are finally together, how clingy Magnus is. I need you to think about this with me. Magnus, who teases Alec, who is the experienced one, who has loved and lost and had lots and lots of sex, but at the end of the day, he is the vulnerable one. I need you to think abut Magnus who isn’t sure whether or not Alec will get fed up if he tries to hold his hand all the time or snuggle him all night. Magnus, who is unsure if Alec will be okay with clingy cuddling after sex or how much Magnus loves being in Alec’s space. He knows people need their space, everyone does, but Magnus…he has just never felt this way, this much before.

And of course he needs his alone time too. Some days he needs to be on his own, just the same as Alec sometimes needs to spend the day training and away from the rest of the world. But it scares Magnus how much he truly loves Alec, knowing this could all blow up in his face. That maybe in a couple of years, when Alec is older, he will grow bored, see Magnus as his first love and move on. But Magnus can’t not risk it, because Alec is the most important thing to him in the world, or is at least very much becoming the most important, and it’s scary and makes him even more vulnerable but…but it’s all worth it just for the moments where Alec holds him, squeezes his hand when Magnus takes it, how he seeks Magnus out to cuddle after sex, how he looks at Magnus from across a room like Magnus is somehow everything and kisses his forehead because he’s taller and he knows how much Magnus secretly loves forehead kisses.

Vulnerable Magnus getting all the love and care he deserves is so very important to me, nonnie. So very important.
