Shadowhunters Valentine’s Day Fic-a-thon!

Inspired by @omgericzimmermann​‘s Halloween fic-a-thon for the Check Please fandom, I decided to make Valentine’s Day fic-a-thons in the spirit of the holiday and love in general for both Check Please and Shadowhunters. Here’s the SH one, with special thanks to the SH Heart and Soul Writers Network! ❤ 

To start are the prompts:

  1. Feb. 1st – This World Inverted (set in that episode’s universe)
  2. Feb. 2nd – Friend Love (friend dates, support, gifts, memories together throughout the centuries, etc.)
  3. Feb. 3rd – Admissions/Confessions (didn’t mean to say i love you yet, explaining their partner is bad in bed, admitting feelings, etc.)
  4. Feb. 4th – Shadow World Traditions/Customs (does the shadow world fo vday?, color meanings [green = heartbreak, gold = weddings, etc], do seelies have other love celebrations? vampires? warlocks? nephilim? werewolves? who knows!, etc.)
  5. Feb. 5th – Aro/Ace Appreciation (being calm while everyone else freaks out about vday, intimacy without sex, coming out, etc.)
  6. Feb. 6th – Everyone refusing to use ‘Valentine’s Day’ because of Morgenstern (the word, the day, people making up new name’s for it, etc.)
  7. Feb. 7th – Plans Gone Wrong (ruined surprises, things not going as planned but ending up better, being one uped, burned dinner, etc.)
  8. Feb. 8th – Past Valentine’s Days (immortals’ most memorable ones, first ones with SO, comparisons, etc.)
  9. Feb. 9th – Anniversary (plans, traditional gifts and meanings, forgotten, etc.)
  10. Feb. 10th – Familial Love (lightwood siblings, the frays + luke, lewis’, etc.)
  11. Feb. 11th – Magic (love spells/potions, soulmate bonds, destiny, literal sparks from a kiss, etc.)
  12. Feb. 12th – Alone on Valentine’s Day (single and bitter, left behind, ‘no one should be alone today’ queue netflix with friend(s), vday after a breakup, etc.)
  13. Feb. 13th – 

    Everyday Moments (love in the little things, domestic fluff, details in caring for someone, etc.)

  14. Feb. 14th – Free for all! (anything you want! fluff, smut, meet cute, soulmate AU, etc.)

Next, do the thing! Write/draw/whatever you please for the prompt related to Valentine’s Day or love. This can mean fluff, smut, ships, no ships, self-love, lack of love, breakups, getting back together, and so on! Pretty much whatever you want to make of it! You can do as many or as few of these prompts/days as you please. There are no length requirements. 

Posting: On the day of your prompt, post it on either tumblr or on the AO3 collection (which you can join at any time to help give me an idea how many people we have) with the tag SH Love Fest and tag or @ me (achilleanragnor).

Because she asked for a drinking game (x) and I got inspired.

THE RULES

1. step: Pick a character. Carefully because you gotta stick with them during the whole episode.

2. step:

– If you picked ALEC, drink whenever…

… he mentions the Clave.
… he sighs audibly or rolls his eyes.
… he says “mundane”.
… Jace says his name. (I mean he says it A LOT.)
… Izzy wants to talk to him about his feelings.
… Magnus calls him Alexander.

– If you picked CLARY, drink whenever…

… she says that she has to find her mom, or she wants to find her or says anything close to this.
… she friend-zones Simon like really obliviously.
… she glares at Jace longer than three seconds without speaking.
… someone calls her “little girl”.
… she gasps in surprise.
… she has a vision without anyone finally questioning what is up with her necklace. (Seriously, why is no one interested in that?!)

– If you picked IZZY, drink whenever…

… she says something in Spanish. (And give a big “yay” for that. I love latina Izzy.)
… she flips her hair.
… she says the word “distraction” or “distract” or “distracting” OR someone says to her.
… she mentions that someone is hot.
… Alec ignores her.
… she saves Simon.

– If you picked JACE, drink whenever…

… he does his sexy-confused-eyebrow thing. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, watch this trailer and the moment Clary walks away from him.)
… he fiddles with his stele. (He does it mostly in the background, so watch out!)
… he talks about how he doesn’t have emotions when we can clearly see how in love/hurt up/lonely he is.
… someone tells him that his plan is stupid.
… he doesn’t understand something mundie.
… he says his full name and you just want somebody to tell him so badly…

– If you picked LUKE, drink whenever…

… the show foreshadows that he is a werewolf.
… someone says that they can’t trust him.
… he is shirtless.
… he smiles and the sun shines through the cloudy sky because Isaiah Mustafa’s smile is like that, it lightens up the whole room. (Whatever.)
… Captain Vargas nudges him about Jocelyn.
… he saves the day by being awesome.

– If you picked MAGNUS, drink whenever…

… he drinks (yeah, drink with him!) or at least holds a drink.
… any character says his full name. (Yeah, drink to the awesomeness that is his name!)
… you spot his cool looking earring.
… he mentions his age or says something that suggests his age.
… he says “lair”.
… Alec makes him all startled.

– If you picked SIMON, drink whenever…

… he refers to Jace in a name other than Jace.
… he uses a new band name.
… doesn’t give a rats ass about Maureen.
… someone ties him up or “simply” kidnaps him.
… he talks about accounting.
… he acts like a true Gryffindor. (Because no one can convince me he is not a Gryffindor.)

3. step: Brace yourself and hope for the best!

(Also, instead of alcohol you can drink tea or orange juice and this could still be fun.)

Gotta feeling I’ll be picking all the characters at once!! LOL!
