Okay but why has no one talked about Kara stopping at one of those diners or roadhouses that have one of those massive food challenges???
Just imagine. Kara Danvers walks into this slightly dark and slightly rough looking steak house. There’s bikers and tough looking people everywhere and she sticks out like a sore thumb in her nicely pressed slacks, yellow cardigan, and glasses. She just politely sits down and smiles at the waiter when he asks her “what would you like, little lady?”
And when she speaks again she doesn’t need her super hearing to know the restaurant suddenly becomes quiet. Everyone looking at her, almost as if they know she’s an actual alien.
“I’ll have the 72 oz steak, please.”
And the waiter just shifts on his feet, looks Kara up and down, this seemingly unassuming and /tiny/ girl… And then he laughs. And laughs. And laughs. Because there’s absolutely no way she could possibly eat the 72 oz stake in a week – let alone an hour. But Kara just keeps smiling at him, waiting.
So when he sees that she’s serious, he just shakes his head, walks back to the kitchen, and hollers for the steak challenge. The rest of the patrons start whispering, most start laughing in disbelief. But Kara just keeps smiling and patiently waits for her food.
And when it comes out of the kitchen, the 72 oz, 4.5 pound monster of steak, the waiter sets it down in front of Kara with a slight shake of his head. “Good luck, darling,” he says with a slight laugh. But Kara doesn’t need it.
She demolishes it in record time and her picture – Kara grinning in front of an empty plate – is hung up on the wall of fame in between photos of massive bikers and leather jackets.
Then she asks politely for their dessert menu.
