Josh Lyman “You know what, CJ, I really think I’m the best judge of what I mean, you paranoid Berkeley shiksa feminista! …Whoa, that was way too far.” “No, no. Well, I’ve got a staff meeting to go to and so do you, you elitist Harvard fascist missed-the-dean’s-list-two-semesters-in-a-row Yankee jackass!”
and in unrelated news, the catholic church has just published a canonical addition to the bible in which it is revealed that jesus christ has actually been working for the devil for the past two thousand years. “hail satan,” he says at the end of the new book.

“Who cares?”
She was trying to be progressive. It sounded less accepting and more ‘I don’t see colour’ when the topic of race came up.
My gaze dragged towards her. There was a couple on the other side of the road. They were chatting over the head of their baby and I had been thinking aloud as I tried to figure out if they were queer when she spoke up: who cares?
The wrongness of it hummed behind my ribcage, but the reply didn’t come until later.
Who cares-
During orientation, the professor was using his new students to make up a story to prove a point. He pointed towards two in the front row, got them to introduce themselves, then elaborated on Judy and Tristan’s imaginary relationship. The next couple he invented were in the second row and were called Kumar and Jason, and the professor laughed along with most of the class. It pushed tiny blunt barbs under my skin: why was the suggestion of our existence a joke?
Who cares-
For a long time, the only books I could find with characters like me centred solely around Being Gay. They had no sprawling trysts in rainforests, no magical lands called to them for a saviour: their journey started and ended with Being Gay. It was their uphill struggle, their only epic quest. It was as if Being Gay was enough of a hardship that they never bothered to entertain the possibility that gay people might want their main struggle to revolve around space adventures.
Who cares-
I keep an eye out on the bus, watching windows and passengers. They collect in my chest: boys crossing the road with their fingers entwined. Last week, two girls exchanged a goodbye kiss several seats in front of me before one of them got off at her stop.
Who cares-
I once spent twenty minutes trying not to stare at a pair of high schoolers: one girl in particular kept finding excuses to lean on her friend’s shoulder, touch her wrist as she gestured, coax grins onto her face. More than once, the girl’s eyes flickered to me and I looked away because I didn’t know how to communicate ‘it’s okay, me too’ through a glance.
Who cares-
I watch for badges tucked into backpacks, bumper stickers smoothed
onto rickety cars. They spark kinship with strangers I only ever see once. Small acts of rebellion, of solidarity. They resonate soft and solid in my chest, conjuring whispers: I see you. I’m like you. We exist.
Who cares-
We have to dig to find people like us on screens or books. Even then, we hold our breath- our history in media is fraught with bodies.
(Our history anywhere is fraught with bodies.)
When another is killed off or shunted away, surprise is not on the list of emotions that gear up. Weariness often clamours to be first in line.
Who cares-
What we are is never the default.
We search for mirrors only to find ourselves looking in windows.
Who cares-
The simple act of walking along, queer and in love and holding a child between them- it was a small spark in an ever-burning fire.
It conjured whispers:
I see you.
Me, too.
Thank you for reminding me of our existence in a world that would erase us.
Don’t think about what would happen if Bitty gets injured during a game and Jack’s on a roadie.
Don’t think about Jack’s level of panic when he tries to call/text Bitty after his own game and gets no response.
Don’t think about how he responds when he calls Bitty’s phone and Lardo answers, and he can hear the quaver in her voice.
Don’t think about how he’ll be climbing the walls of his hotel room and practically tearing himself apart because he can’t be there to watch over Bitty.
Don’t think about how he jumps in his car the second he gets back to Providence, with 3 days of beard growth and yesterday’s clothes on, and drives up to Samwell, and he’s driving about 90 and praying the cops don’t pull him over.
Don’t think about him throwing the front door of the Haus open, and the kitchen is empty, and he goes straight up to Bitty’s room, not even saying hi to anyone, and all the frogs are wide-eyed and whispering “that’s Jack Zimmermann!” to each other but no one DARES to get in his way.
Don’t think about how he eases open Bitty’s door, and sees him curled up so small on his bed, and Dieu merci, nothing’s broken but he can see a huge bruise on Bitty’s cheek and his arm’s in a sling, and he’s asleep now but Jack can see the unmistakable signs that Bitty’s been crying, and Jack’s heart just breaks for him.
Don’t think about Jack closing the door behind him and crawling very carefully into Bitty’s bed, curling up around him and holding him like Bitty’s the most precious thing in the whole world.
The only acceptable reason for this is if this character is actually a demon who seduces men and then eats them. [source]

my breasts are nicely separated. Completely divided, every year they move apart by half an inch.
My breasts are nicely separated though they still fight for custody of the children.
I,,a woman,,,am WiDeR LOweR dOwN
That was difficult to read.
So ugly
My name is Ebony D’arkness Dementia Raven Way, and my breasts are nicely separated
OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT AND HOW ON EARTH DID IT GET PUBLISHED
You can always tell when it’s a man writing a description because they focus oddly on the breasts. There will always be something about breasts and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read historical or fantasy fiction and they talk about “her breasts hanging freely under her tunic” or what the fuck ever and it’s like…women don’t do that? We don’t describe ourselves by saying “I have blonde hair and blue eyes and my breasts hang freely under my tunic”. I kind of feel like we should counter by awkwardly mentioning all male character’s balls in their description. It’s kind of in the same vein.
“I have auburn hair and hazel eyes and my copious nicely separated balls hangs freely under my breeches”
It’s Tuesday. Steve Rogers #1 comes out tomorrow. We only have a short opportunity to kill sales. And make no mistake, killing sales is the ONLY WAY Marvel will listen. Please encourage people to NOT buy the comic this week. Please encourage people to pull it from their pull list. Or, if it was on your pull list, to not buy it. Force the stores to have a blacklog. I normally don’t like to do anything that will hurt the LCS; I’m willing to make an expectation with this.
And MOST of all, please tweet @nickspencer and @Marvel on twitter with your disgust. (I’ve been using #CapIsNotHydra unless someone can think of something better.) They need to know this blatant disregard for Captain America’s Jewish creators and their intentions for the character is unacceptable and not something we will support.
just so everyone know’s nick is retconing caps past so he was helped by some nazi lady or something else bad writery, I’m not going to post any panels from it but I’ve read it and confirm it’s as bad as everyone is thinking, really would recommend skipping it even besides the cap being a nazi thing it’s a total snooze fest
Honestly, this is well intentioned but it’s not just this week you have to worry about because this is a series based on Captain America, a character created in direct response to how Jewish writers felt about Nazis and WWII, being a Marvel equivalent Nazi. So if you just skip this comic and start buying it, they learn nothing. This has already been given at least a five issue run.
This is an entire series you should not buy so that Marvel understands the outrage and hopefully remembers the history that led to Cap and Marvel comics being what they are.
If you want to put an end to this, Don’t Buy Captain America: Steve Rogers. At all.
Y’all clearly don’t know shit about Marvel if you think Hydra = Nazis. Do your research? ?? Because you are just spreading misinformation and causing drama and being ridiculous.
(Captain America #148)
How do people still come out of reading Marvel comics without recognizing that Hydra is a fucking Nazi splinter group? How?
