So @wanderingandfound and I were looking at the monstrosities that are race hats and found this glorious example

and we were thinking it looks like a chess peice, specifically the knight chess piece and that just led to John in this hat
Obviously the only reason for him to be wearing this is for an artsy photo shoot
can you imagine him in anything other than this and boxers

the best thing about this is that if they went for the full Set Amira simply wouldn’t agree to it if they wanted something skimpy
so she would definitly be wearing full regalia and a crown
and Corbin’s whole image probably led to him being fully dressed lurking in a castle which would annoy Amira so much because thats not the history of that piece
and poor John’s just there going I’m pretty sure me being pretty naked is more scandalous than misinterpreting a chess piece

Johnny has always been the Team Eye Candy. This was a tough balance to strike, because they also wanted him to be the Classically Masc one, too. As much as he would have preferred pajama and baby animal-themed photo shoots, he got a muddied mix of This is Sexy, Right? It was very much in the same vein as that mythology based shoot that Brendan Fraser did after George of the Jungle, where most of his modestly was provided by the artful gold leafing of his crotchal region.

Does this contribute to Ernest’s body shyness? Maaaaaaaybe. He does not relish the knowledge that someday, he too will suffer the gilding of his genitals.

Honestly in all of these stories these poetic white men who somehow end up immortal get so bored and miserable because they just sit in their mansion all day doing whatever it is they need to do in order to sustain their immortality and then they just throw lavish parties and organize orgies or whatever and then they’re like “why am I sad I eat three course meals and have at least one orgy daily what MORE could I POSSIBLY need??”

Like???? Damn go for a walk. Do you even KNOW your neighbors? Get a dog and take it to the park. Set up an elaborate fish tank. Go skiing like you’ve been alive for 200 years and you’ve spent 180 of it in your house looking at paintings and drinking wine with other rich assholes no wonder ur life sucks my man.

Buy a canoe.

AO3 icons for WIPs, oh my!

tzikeh:

So, as you guys know, AO3 has those icons that indicate whether a story is complete or not. There’s the “this story is complete” icon:

And there’s the “this story is incomplete” icon:

But “incomplete” is a really, really broad category, and WIPs are incomplete for lots and lots of reasons, right? I bet many authors wish they could put a little more nuance into that statement, in order to better communicate details to their readers, and I bet readers would totally appreciate that. I think AO3 should do away with the trite old circle with a bar through it, and give the authors access to some more flexibility and detail! So, I thought about some of the things an author might want to say about a story’s “incomplete” status, and I came up with some new icons!

First, the “still writing!” ones:

“I’m still writing this story!” (This would be the default icon for a WIP)

image

“I’m still writing this story, and I promise I will post a new chapter… just as soon as I figure out what’s going to happen next.”

image

“I’m still writing this story, but I’ve just realized that it has to be much, much, MUCH longer than I originally thought, and I’m currently rearranging everything.”

image

“I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD I will finish this story even though the last time I posted an update was 2 ½ years ago.”

image

And then the “not writing anymore” ones:

“Sorry, I’m not writing this story anymore.”

image

“Sorry, I’m not writing this story anymore because fuck that show/movie/book/fandom right in its fucking face“

image

(of course we wanna be multi-racial, so there are some options for this one):

image

(And multi-cultural!)

image

“Sorry, I’m not writing this story anymore because I’ve been sucked into a new fandom and have already written 37 stories for it!”

image

“Sorry, I’m not writing this story anymore–but if someone else wants to take over and continue the story, I’m fine with that!”

image

And one I can’t believe AO3 didn’t put into use years ago:

“WELP I DUNNO YOUR GUESS IS AS GOOD AS MINE YOU FOLLOWED A WIP OF YOUR OWN FREE WILL LOL”

OH MY GOD

aerodynamics are really important in cycling but the real technique there was taking his feet off the pedals. that bike has a fixed gear (if you notice, the pedals continue turning with the rotation of the wheel even while his feet aren’t on them), and hte video is taken on a slope, so the actual impediment to his speed wasn’t his wind resistance but the fact that he quite simply couldn’t pedal as fast as the bike wanted to go due to gravity, and so his pedaling motion was actually slowing him down. by taking his feet off the pedals, he allowed the bike to go down the hill a great deal faster than if he’d just kept pedaling normally.

why’d the guy on the moped copy him tho
