not everyone’s families are great and the original event thanksgiving celebrates is a mythologized story created to justify white conquest of north america etc etc but also, it’s so nice to sit around a home cooked meal with my family as we talk about what we’re thankful for and bicker about what board game we should play after dinner, and i’m really glad that we have an entire holiday dedicated to giving thanks and being with your family, regardless of its origins
