do not get me started Lord God i know this is not everywhere but i follow a bunch of people who look at queer representation in media because that is my Jam but it does mean that they often get mildly insufferable
tier one: “it was written by a straight woman about a white boy it is by no means Progressive”
tier two: “it’s a gay romcom aimed at teenagers, this is totally progressive and exactly what we need right now”
tier three: “it’s Problematic but we are allowed to enjoy Problematic things”
tier four: “the discourse surrounding love simon is Problematic because…”
tier five: is actively running down my cheek because can we please, for once, just enjoy a gay movie without doing This
