ok so here’s something I desperately wish someone had told my gay ass at age 15, so if you’re a teenage lesbian this post is for you:
you aren’t on a schedule to Experience Things!!! I know it’s hard because you have to watch your straight friends go through puberty, get boyfriends, break up with them and get boyfriends again. They talk about kissing and eventually sex and you, well you don’t. You feel like you aren’t being a teenager the right way and with every month that goes by without you having kissed a boy it just gets worse. Until you finally figure out you’re gay.
But here’s the thing: Straight people get a head start compared to lesbians. I mean, being a teenager is never easy but just think about that hefty extra workload of emotions and issues we have to go through. All flavors of compulsory heterosexuality, the stress of being closeted, the stress of coming out etc. etc. That takes time! Time that straight people are already using to make awkward, and then less awkward Teenager Experiences. While you’re still busy Struggling.
So what I’m trying to say here is, I’m 22 and I’m only getting really started on all that now! But I can already promise you that there are so many gay things in store for you and that they’ll wait for you until you’re good and ready, no matter how long that takes, so don’t even worry.
