AU where they still don’t know each other’s identity and they’re both in their 20′s and Marinette gets pregnant and when she finds out she tells Chat that she can’t be around for a while cause she’s preggers and Chat’s kinda upset but then Marinette tells Adrien and he’s like wOAH OH MY GOD and then it’s just Adrien sneaking out for patrol at night while Marinette just kinda whatevers. Bonus points if she’s like ‘OH MY GOD ARE YOU CHEATING ON ME’
but the best part is the reveal
Marinette brings the baby on her first night back to patrolling. The baby’s in a baby carrier and he’s sleeping. Very cold, he wears a beanie.
‘this is my son louis’
‘thats my son louis’
silence
I’d write this… But I kinda um *Opens cupboard filled to the brim with unfinished fics* *Fics fall on top of me in an avalanche of pape*
I’ll take the dive and write this one. *brushes pile of other fics to the side*
It was a cold night out, unusual for this time of the year, but Adrien didn’t feel a thing as he stood out on the old church’s rooftop. His nerves were pricking with anticipation at seeing his lady again. God, how he’d missed her.
It’d been nine months ago almost to the day that she’d told him she was pregnant. To be honest, the thought had shocked him. He’d never really thought that Ladybug would be in a relationship, let alone apparently sleeping with another man. Jealousy, didn’t even begin to cover it.
But, he’d understood. They weren’t a couple so he’d calmed his nerves and let her take her leave from his side. He knew just how taxing a pregnancy can be for a woman; after all, Marinette had only announced hers a week before Ladybug. Imagine the timing!
Sneaking out hadn’t been easy after that. Typically, Marinette would have been busy with Alya in the afternoons, and then her designing consulates at night, but she’d cancelled most of them due to appointments and her–as she called it–”night sickness”.
He chuckled lightly at the thought of their fight.
She’d caught him trying to sneak upstairs to Plagg one night after she’d fallen asleep. He remembered the tears just beginning to show in her eyes and the way her bottom lip quivered as her hands came up protectively around her swollen belly.
“You’re sneaking off again?” She’d whispered brokenly.
He tried to stutter out an explanation, but the only thing to come out of his mouth was garbled syllables.
After a moment she’d stopped him with a hand. “I knew it. I should have known all along.” Welp, looks like the Chat’s out of the bag, he thought. “You’re cheating on me, aren’t you?”
Silenced and stunned he’d done nothing more than stare. Seriously? That was her conclusion?
Oh, god, the way he’d laughed. He’d been washed in such a warm relief that it had him in tears of joy as he’d wrapped her up in his arms. She’d panicked, but he’d later gone on to explain that he was simply going to get her their nice comforter, coming up with the excuse offhandedly.
That night had ended in a tangled and tired embrace on the couch with her head of his chest, and his hands in her hair. God, how she’d looked so beautiful.
He was drawn out of his memory but the sound of feet hitting the tiles behind him.
A grin split his face as he turned to see the young woman that same foot fall belonged to. But, something was different. She was leaning more towards one side, and there was a large shadow behind her legs, raised off the ground.
Adrien didn’t comprehend what was going on until she approached, careful not to bump the object around too much. Then he noticed the shadow was actually a baby carrier, the familiar starry fabric lining the top.
He was frozen with shock as Ladybug slowly crept up to him, a sly grin decorating her beautifully memorable smile. “Miss me?”
He was speechless as his eyes traced their way from her face, down to the carrier, his expression open and slack-jawed.
She chuckled and brought the carrier out from behind her, hoisting it up to eye level.
“I guess I should introduce you two.” She purred and pulled back the carrier’s hood.
That’s when he saw the cute face he’d been sleeping next to for the past week; the adorable nose he’d kissed a dozen times; the thick black hair; the small clenched up fists hidden by gloves.
And the hat.
He’d seen her hands moving over the material in careful and experienced motions as she’d crafted the small beanie. It’s going to be a cold summer, she’d claimed.
He’s never forgotten a design of hers, and he never will. Especially, that hat.
That’s when the pieces finally clicked into place.
Marinette. He thought and looked up at the entranced young girl, still gazing down at her, their, gorgeous child.
“This…” she trailed off with a chuckle.
“This is my son Louis.” They said in synch.
Her head shot up so fast, her eyes growing to the size of saucers as they both seemed to process everything.
Two things ran through his head:
1.) I’m dating and knocked up Ladybug.
2.) I guess we’ll need a damn good baby sitter.
